📧 “Harris on military civil rights” from Sullivan

The topic of state and federal agencies failing to meet their statutory obligations to veterans could be a good topic overall, but we would want some kind of a Catholic angle to the story (say, a Catholic veterans' group working to raise the issue). 

I'm not sure if the story would fit into our election coverage with so few days left in the campaign. If the gist is that Kamala Harris failed to enforce the law as California's attorney general, there would have to be some evidence to make the case (if it is not normal for California to take a few years to fully implement a new law). And then there should be some assessment of how Trump handled veterans' issues as president, since at this late date any assessment of Harris will be read as an argument on which is the better candidate for president. (Or a "think twice before you vote for Harris" essay.)

We would need to see the full essay before making a decision about acceptance, but I hope this helps explain what we would be looking for. Let me know if you have any other questions!
